Hey Stephen,

Thanks for taking the time to tell your story and to be in touch. Hopefully it will inspire people to write! As for your friend, I think you have to believe she knows. Peace, Lisa

This is so very true. I've just learned this the hard way. I've been meaning to write a note to someone for a few months. I even bought a very nice Thank You card, yet it had been sitting on my shelf because I wasn't quite sure what to put in it. I finally decided to skip the Thank You card, and simply write my note in a Christmas card. I spent a good long time thinking of what to write, and thanked this person for being a friend, and helping me through a very difficult time.

I dropped my Christmas card in the mail on Monday. On Wednesday morning I received a message from another friend that our dear friend had passed away suddenly the night before.

My Christmas card, and more importantly the sincere heartfelt words that I wrote in it, didn't make it to her in time. Had I not been so lazy during the previous months, she would have known how much I appreciated her friendship, and everything that she'd done. Now, those words probably sit in a cold mailbox, waiting for someone to clean it out and mark it as undeliverable.
